Shingle Roofing
Asphalt shingles remain the most popular choice for residential roofs: attractive, affordable and durable.
Learn moreThe cost of a new roof is one of the first questions homeowners ask. The honest answer: it depends. Here are the factors that drive price variation in Quebec and how to get a fair quote with no nasty surprises.
Several elements determine the cost of a roof: the area and pitch of the roof, the type of material (shingles, elastomeric membrane, TPO), the number of storeys, the complexity (dormers, valleys, chimneys), the condition of the underlying roof deck, and whether the old covering needs to be removed. Two houses of similar size can end up with very different costs.
Asphalt shingles are generally the most affordable option for a sloped residential roof. Elastomeric and TPO membranes, reserved for flat roofs, require specialized labour but offer excellent durability. The right choice depends on your roof type, not just the price.
Be cautious of unusually low quotes: they often leave out the removal of the old roof, deck repairs, or use a lower-quality underlayment. A good quote is detailed and in writing. At Toiture PBC, our assessment is free, clear, and comes with no obligation.
A roof doesn't last forever, but it sends signals before it fails.
